' My Thoughts on Homeless , Destitute, Disadvantaged Children and their families '

The afore mentioned category are trapped not only communities but are everywhere around us as we walk the streets.

Their number overwhelms affordable accommodation and meagre social services available not just in Lagos State but the whole country.

These indigents are so lacking, they can't afford the basic needs of food, clothes and shelter not to mention healthcare, education or other social amenities. Their very lives are in danger of the streets they roam.

Most destitute homes are for infants, children, teenagers and even women.

I don't think destitute homes should be a place of shelter only but should provide life skills to make them productive and self reliant , this is so they don't constitute nuisance to the society.

According to UNESCO, Nigeria has 8.7m out of school children of primary school age.

That's a problem that can be solved with a PRAGMATIC approach!

I stand with TRNDI and the ' Rewrite a life ' project .

Together we will transform the lives of disadvantaged children and their families one community at a time.
